A Door for Doris Lee

Large-scale Illustration

The Client: The Dixon Gallery and Gardens contracted me to create a life-size illustration of a door from a 1942 Doris Lee painting.

Design Process: The original painting measured only 24 inches and the bottom half of the door is not shown. I replicated what was visible in Doris Lee’s style. For the floor, I researched the artist and recreated the tile pattern found in another of her paintings.

The Impact: My illustration was an integral part of the emersive experience for hundreds of visitors to the Dixon’s interractive gallery.
